Building high-performing tech teams: Overcoming challenges and fostering collaboration.
PROBLEM

Building tech teams today involves several challenges, such as a competitive talent market, rapid technological advancements, and the need for diversity. Key issues include talent acquisition difficulties, skill gaps, high demand for tech talent, and challenges in retaining employees due to burnout and compensation issues. Additionally, managing remote work dynamics, ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration, and navigating complex technology stacks are significant hurdles.
DESIGN PROCESS

To address these challenges. the UX journey was based around a wizard so that candidates could only progress through the process once all criteria was met. The design system was built from scratch using Adobe XD, as Figma was not available. This system facilitated the creation of a collaborative environment for engineering teams at Deutsche Bank, enabling them to work effectively with vendors and freelancers.
OUTCOME
–
The Breaking Wave environment became a hub for collaboration, utilising open-source software to develop digital products for Deutsche Bank and its clients. This initiative supported the creation of future-facing digital solutions, contributing to Deutsche Bank’s financial growth, with net revenues reaching €30.1 billion in 2024, a 4% increase year on year.
